Background

  Climate Action - Sarnia Lambton formed from a group of people who live in the Sarnia-Lambton area who share a common concern about the harmful impact of human activities on the sustainability and health of the Earth’s ecosystem and want to effect change. 

In 2019, we succeeded in influencing Sarnia City Council to declare a climate emergency at a time when many governments, at all levels, around the world were making similar declarations largely due to public pressure resulting from concerns about the human caused degradation of our world that we are collectively experiencing. 

We fundamentally believe that what science tells us and is warning us about is real. We believe that humanity must make radical and significant changes in order to prevent our continued harm to the life sustaining ecology of Earth and to sustain, protect and restore the delicate web of life that we all need in order for all life in its diversity, (including the human animal), to flourish. 

We believe that we are in a state of human caused climate emergency. 

We believe that we must strive to respond to that emergency!
